This Privacy Policy describes how flippie.app ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you play our card-matching game.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data needed to run the leaderboard and multiplayer features:

Username — a display name you choose voluntarily when joining the leaderboard. This name is stored in our database and displayed publicly in rankings.
Game scores — score, time, difficulty, and category for each submitted game result.
localStorage — your username and language preference are saved in your browser's localStorage so you don't have to re-enter them on each visit. This data never leaves your device unless you submit a score.

We do not collect your real name, email address, IP address, or any other personally identifying information.

2. Cookies & Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing activity across websites.

Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the game:

Supabase — our backend database provider. Game scores and usernames are stored in Supabase. See Supabase Privacy Policy.

Vercel — hosting and content delivery. See Vercel Privacy Policy.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing the data they process.

4. Data Retention

Leaderboard entries (username and scores) are retained as long as the leaderboard is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

5. Children's Privacy

flippie.app is a general-audience game. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the game after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
